BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.
The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury's lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

I watched the movie.I was very impressed. The casting was spot on.Sure they could have told the story up until the day Freddie died but I find that the way they ended it with the Live Aid thing was fitting.Ended on a happy note.If they would have got in to more detail etc,the movie could have been 4 hours long. All in all,I`m happy with what they made.Queen was my second concert ever, when I was 16 years old.I was at the Montreal Forum November 24th 1981.I will cherish it forever. But to think that Freddie passed 10 years to the day,so sad.And to think that if we had the medicine etc back then that we have now,he might still be with us.

I get they can’t cram everything Into the movie but there are other highlights of queen that went unmentioned such as them doing music for Flash Gordon sound track or Highlander .And what about under pressure duet with David Bowie??? That was tremendous on many levels..screwing up the time line is one thing but leaving out such things as those are stupid ....

Bohemian Rhapsody is a brilliant movie; cannot understand why the critics didn't give this movie any praise. Rami Malek has to win an Oscar for his performance and Gwilym Lee a Supporting Actor award. 21 Nov 2018.

Sure some of these things are different but it's a movie it's not supposed to be exactly exact and rlly if all these matter to you this much then just don't watch it again. Just because you don't like how it's not exact doesn't mean you have to point these things out. They did what They could to make it as alike as possible movies have budgests and can only do so much. Also it's eye color no one really sat there and stared into all the actors eyes like that fact is just annoying

" you see in the movie 1970 freddy was wearing a red shirt but in actuality he was wearing a blue shirt but they had to change it for the movie due to contrast and film capabilities lmao gosh it was a great depiction of the band made the point take breath

The microphone they are shown standing around singing into (and Roger does his falsetto parts into) is an Electrovoice RE-20. Contrary to most studio microphones being side address (you sing into the side of them) the RE-20 was designed as a broadcast mic (you can see them all the time in radio station pics and vids) and you sing or talk into the end of it like a typical microphone. In the movie it's pointed straight up as if it were side address. This has spawned a meme in audio circles of a still asking why it's pointed up in the air.

I enjoyed the film but it wasn’t accurate! I liked the Brian May character he was convincing but Malek lacked the presence and intensity and passion of Mercury! Also Mercury was a very naughty guy in his private life and took enormous risks! The film tried to mask this so that he could be universally sympathised with. I guess it went with being a world class performer!

As a Queen fan, I was very aware of these liberties taken. I'm really glad I'm not the only one who noted all this. Another was them playing 'Fat Bottomed Girls' on a circa '74 tour of America. Gimme a break! Wasn't sure how all this stuff got through to the keeper considering Brian and Roger's involvement. A good film, but I hate it when bio-pics over-dramatise the facts. It's really unnecessary. Sure, they were brilliant at Live Aid, but that was so over-glorified in the film. I'm annoyed because I love Queen.

movies good, watched it twice and would watch it again and buy it on blue ray. Although the timeline is jubbled and the history is slightyly different, you have to keep in mind the movie is PG and the original band had a huge part in helping to create the film, if the directors went to the band to confirm the movie and see if the changes where needed to keep the movie about queen and not just freddy then i dont find anything wrong with it. I respect queen and if they wanted the changes then the movies is still great cause queen had there part in making the movie.

Its really odd to think queen produced this when they show freddie go off the deep end with booze and drugs when his band mates have made live statements talking about how they don’t want the media to paint him as someone who had a problem with that stuff and that he in real life rarely abused it and was quite professional. So why would they paint him as an animal in the movie?

Couldn't they AT LEAST have chosen someone of Freddie's HEIGHT? OK, eye color was ignored, as was Freddie's body type. But I am really finding it impossible to watch such a SHORT Freddie Mercury. I'm sure the music has everyone blinded to this observation or they don't REALLY REMEMBER HIM.

More: 1) Paul Prenter nor did anyone fail to "tell" Freddie that Live Aid was taking place. First of all, every musician on the planet knew about Live Aid. Freddie couldn't have possibly not known. The reason why Freddie was hesitant to perform was because he was suffering from a throat ailment that caused the cancellation of the final 5 shows of Queen's previous tour. In fact, Freddie performed the Live Aid gig against his doctor's advice. 2) For some reason John Reid was depicted as being Queen's manager throughout the entire film, when in fact he was only their manager from 1975-1978. Reid was depicted as a manager who saw Freddie as the star of Queen, and with the assistance of Prenter, landed him a solo recording career with the idea that he could become a Michael Jackson/Madonna like star, independent of Queen. The video above documents how both Roger Taylor and Brian May released solo records before Freddie, but again, by 1978, Reid was completely out of the Queen universe. Also, the intent of Freddie's solo record was more of a creative outlet. Even if it had sold 3 million, I doubt he would have ditched Queen. 3) The movie shows Paul Prenter on TV dishing out dirt about Freddie. Never happened. Prenter leaked info to the tabloids a couple of years after his firing from Queen in 1986. ....................there are several more inaccuracies, but not nearly as many as in Oliver Stone's movie on The Doors.

I already assumed that they had to speed things up for the movie - it's impossible to get it all in 2 hours, so yes, some creative writing is expected. This should not be a surprise to anyone. I love Queen, loved the movie. I would see it again. The "critics" should do something else for a living.

Most annoying part for me was is that movie assumes that before live aid they stopped even seeing each other which absolutely untrue. I mean this is what makes this movie just too far from reality. I mean c'mon take a look at movie Backbeat about The Beatles, they did everything perfectly, made a show, plus made accurate biography of some taken period. Second most idiotic part for me is that freddy never was such drama arse as they showing him, he was lot more philosophical, and never been acting as teenager all the time, essence of Freddie could be done lot better than this. He was actually lot more manly and lot mature than this actor.
